~ Welcome to Thelma Blahey, our new MB Agriculture staff liaison. Thelma replaces Pat Orsak who retired in June.
~ Liz Chongva and Ann Mandziuk enjoyed their time at the ACWW Area Canada Convention in Pembroke Ontario. Canada Area business along with interesting speakers filled our days. Our banquet speaker, Sally Armstrong, was very good and the stories she told of her trips to other countries kept us spell bound.
~Liz Chongva also had the opportunity to attend the 120th FWIO Annual meeting just prior to ACWW.
~ At the conclusion of the ACWW conference Liz and Ann headed across the Ottawa River to Quebec for the FWIC Annual and June Board meetings.
~ FWIC is in the process (similar to MWI) of looking at ways to revitalize the organization and increase it’s membership.
~ Stay tuned on both fronts, FWIC and MWI, for new and exciting things to come.
~ Don’t forget to mark your calendars for either October 14 or 28 for the 2nd Annual Manitoba Rural Women’s Day. I challenge each of you to bring a guest with you to the event.
~ A gentle reminder to share your photos and stories of your WI adventures/events with the office and Valerie Watt. It will help us keep our web page and Facebook posts as interesting and up-to-date as possible.
