We began our year with 16 members, losing a long time member and friend in December 2016.Each member (or a combination of members)holds a monthly meeting in their homes.
We had several members attend the Regional Convention in Grosse Isle , and the Provincial Convention at the Elkhorn Resort and Spa in Clear Lake , Mb. Our group supplied lunch for the Community Pasture Field Day in May. We also catered for a local wedding in August.
However the highlight of our WI functions was our Christmas Party hosted by member Gerry Johnson and her daughter/elf Susan. She surprised us all by presenting us all with High Tea – a beautiful table set with fancy china held many plates of dainty sandwiches, goodies and desserts. Of course, there were scones with strawberry jam and REAL whipped cream – a favourite dish of the Queen. This tea was thoroughly enjoyed by all, including many of our spouses who enjoyed their own tea table (although they would have preferred larger manly sandwiches and servings of dainties, OH WELL!!!)
